Tilgate Park provides some great fishing for beginners and seasoned anglers alike. Campbell Lake is 18 acres of freshwater, containing Bream, Carp, Perch, Roach, Pike and Tench. There are a number of fishing stations situated around the lake and wheelchair access for fishing platforms found opposite the boat house and more being provided and upgraded.
Silt Lake is 2.96 acres of freshwater containing Roach, Rudd, Carp and Perch. It is the ideal location for beginners and families to enjoy fishing and there are fishing stations around the lake.
Fishing is available being a member of Tilgate Park Fisheries or by day tickets again from Tilgate Park Fisheries, The Tackle Warehouse.
Night fishing is allowed for Adult members only of Tilgate Park Fisheries. Anglers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Any Fishing membership is obtainable Yearly or Daily from Tilgate Park Fisheries
Terms and Conditions for Fishing
This is a fishing membership to fish at Tilgate or Silt Lake.
- Tilgate fishing club’s policy is two rods per angler maximum (You can use 3 rods between November 1st to March 31st). Rod licenses are a requirement of the environment agency
- SUITABLE SIZE LANDING NETS AND UNHOOKING MAT TO BE USED FOR ALL TYPES OF FISHING.
- We also have a no fires, cans or glass bottles rule on and around Tilgate lakes.
- There is NO close season on Tilgate and the Silt Lake however the main Lake will be used for water sports. Prior notice will be given to anglers regarding major events that could affect the use of the lake.
- A daily charge is payable to Tilgate Park Fisheries for the use of the lakes unless you are an Anual member of Tilgate Park Fisheries
- No fishing can take place between the two yellow posts both side of the slipway due to other lake users between 10.00am and 5.00pm. It is also prohibited to fish in the conservation area and new wetland area(Nature reserve) or Borrow Pit.
- Night fishing is allowed for Adult members only. Under 16 Anglers must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
- All lake users will be held responsible for upholding good conduct on and at the lakeside. The use of foul and abusive language is strictly forbidden. Any antisocial behavier will mean your membership will be revocked.
- Around Tilgate and the Silt lake there are waste disposal bins that need to be used. If caught littering, membership will be revoked.
- The responsable use of Barbiques is allowed off the platforms as long as they are above the grass to prevent grass damage
- PLease do not interfere with the boaters or other Park users
- POACHERS WILL BE PROSECUTED AND WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE LAKE
- The day fishing membership is from dawn to dusk
- No introduction of fish unless authorized
- All fish are catch and release
