Instructor
Main Role:
The Instructor with the principal meets the group leader and helps with the briefing of the group. The Instructor takes charge of the activity that they have been tasked to do and run the activity course through to completion gaining feedback from the group leader and providing a plan to reach any outcomes required. Have an outline plan for the activity being taught if any outcomes need to be met.
They are able to support the groups with the Principal their staff with enquiries, First Aid or general questions and logistics
- Arrive at TPW to help get out the equipment to set up for the day get changed and be at the Days briefing
- Getting out and put away their equipment for their activities
- Getting out and putting away equipment from other activities to assist other Instructors and Centre staff
- Assist with the general cleanliness of the Centre, which may include- cleaning the pontoon, clearing up litter, cups, cutlery and plates.
- Report and follow the repairs procedure in the Operating Procedures
- Answer the centre phone and try to help with the enquiry- if not a message can be taken to be passed on.
- Take and deal with the money for the Centre: including cash and helping customers to make payment via their phones.
Cancellation:
Because a Watersports day is weather dependant. The Instructor can be cancelled at the last minute with no payment.If asked to arrive later in the morning to start or we pack up early then they will get half a Day’s pay
Hire Staff
Main Role:
The Hire Staff is present at the centre to facilitate the hiring of crafts. They will be taking bookings and launching the hirers onto the water in a safe manner whilst ensuring participants have completed and signed the hire agreement form.
Day-to-Day Tasks:
- Arrive at TPW to begin to get out the equipment to set up for the day, get changed and be at the Days briefing
- Getting out and put away their equipment for their activities including heavy boats
- Getting out and putting away equipment incuding heavy boats from other activities to assist other Instructors and Centre staff
- A member of staff will be down at the pontoon area spotting for potential problems on the water at all times.
- They will issue the correct equipment for the activity being undertaken.
- Assist with the general cleanliness of the Centre, which may include- cleaning the pontoon, clearing up litter, cups, cutlery and plates.
- Report and follow the repairs procedure in the Operating Procedures
- Answer the centre phone and try to help with the enquiry- if not a message can be taken to be passed on.
- Handle money for the hire of equipment
- Take and deal with the money for the Centre: including cash and helping customers to make payment via their phones.
Cancellation:
Because a Watersports day is weather dependant. The Hire staff can be cancelled at the last minute with no payment. If asked to arrive later in the morning to start or we pack up early then they will get half a Day’s pay. To be part of the team of Instructors to get out the boats before the session and put the boats away at the end of the day.
Training will be given.
