The Daily Lake membership costs £20 per craft and can only be purchased at the Boat House when we are open. For openning times look on the front page or About us page on the website(1 Adult, 1 Craft)(includes canoes, kayaks, windsurfers, sailing boats and paddle boards).

Modal Boat users

To use the Lake using your Sailing Modal Boats you must be a Member of both:

• Tilgate Park Watersports

and abide by the rules

No motorized craft allowed on the Lake as per a Lake covenant when the Lake was given to Crawley Borough Council

Boat Users code of Conduct

1. All Boat owners wishing to use Tilgate Lake must have a membership to use Tilgate Park Watersports
2. A Membership is only for 1 Year from the 1st January to end of December
3. All Members on the water shall conduct themselves with due regard for the enjoyment of other users and shall comply with instructions from Tilgate Park Watersports
4. All members are responsible for their own group’s and individual safety and first aid if not being instructed by Tilgate Park Watersports.
5. Swimming is only allowed on the lake in the organised sessions on Thursday evening run by Tilgate Park Watersports
6. All Members are responsible for their own third-party insurance which you can get from British Canoeing. At the time of joining Tilgate Park Watersports you must bring a copy of the insurance certificate or your British Canoeing membership card
7. If using water craft, buoyancy aids must be worn at all times when on the water, on the slip way and on the floating pontoon.
8. Any user boating on their own must have a spotter on the lake side watching if the watersports is not open
9. Any Boater under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian as a spotter on the lake side watching or on the water with them in another boat
10. Only specific inflatable craft can be used on this lake. You will have to email a picture with make to be approved before visit to use the boat on the lake
11. Landing and launching of water – craft is only permitted at the slip way.
12. Cars cannot be taken down to the lake for loading and unloading of boats.
13. Membership cards will need to be shown when asked.
14. If you intend launching your own craft, prior booking is required.
15. All users must park their cars in the car park after dropping of their craft

I apply to join Tilgate Park Watersports and agree that I will abide by the rules and regulations as set down by the centre.  I also understand that my name and address will be kept on computer for mailing purposes.

Notice to those all wishing to use Campbell and Silt Lake for water activities

Crawley Borough Council in partnership with Tilgate Park Watersports maintains the supervision of the 2 Lakes and surrounding area but as a large body of untreated open water hosting a range of wildlife with the factors beyond their control may create an unsuitable environment for Watersports activities. In such circumstances the we can close the Lakes to Watersports activities.

The lake water can vary in bacterial levels which cannot be controlled and so people who take part in Watersports at the lakes should be aware of the risks associated with an inland open water such as Leptospirosis (weal’s disease) and Council and Tilgate Park Watersports cannot be liable for any ill health resulting from such activities.
